Privacy

This page describes what the website does today. If that changes, this page changes first.

What the site does not do

  • It has no accounts, comments, forms, newsletter sign-up or payment features, so it collects nothing you type.
  • MOSAIC Brief’s own pages set no cookies and do not use browser storage.
  • It runs no analytics of its own.
  • Apart from the Google script described below, every page loads only files from this site: no third-party fonts, images or trackers.

Google AdSense

Every public page of this site loads Google’s AdSense script (adsbygoogle.js) from Google’s servers, in connection with advertising. The protected staging site used for review does not load it.

  • What happens when you open a page. Your browser requests the script from Google, which necessarily sends Google your IP address and standard browser and device details. The script can load further resources from Google and its advertising partners.
  • What Google may do. Google may use cookies, device identifiers or similar technologies, and may collect information such as your IP address, browser and device information and the pages you view, to serve and measure ads, to limit fraud and abuse, and for its own purposes. We do not receive that information, and we do not control it.
  • Ads and Google. The ads MOSAIC Brief places itself are described in the next section. If Google serves ads on this site, Google selects and delivers them, and they may be personalized based on information Google holds. MOSAIC Brief does not choose individual advertisers for Google’s ads.
  • Your choices. You can manage ad personalization at Google Ad Settings, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Google explains how it handles this information at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and in the Google Privacy Policy.

Affiliated advertising

MOSAIC Brief currently shows temporary ads for businesses affiliated with its publisher, Av8r Capital Group Corp: Mini-Max USA, SD Planes USA and Ace Redrives USA. Each ad is labeled “Advertisement” and carries a disclosure of the affiliation.

  • Where the ads come from. The ad images are files on this site’s own server. One advertiser is shown at a time, and your browser switches to the next every 15 seconds while the ad is on screen. That rotation runs entirely in your browser, uses no cookies or browser storage, and sends nothing to us or to anyone else. It pauses when you hover over or focus the ad, press Pause, switch tabs or scroll the ad away, and it does not run on its own if your device is set to reduce motion.
  • No tracking. MOSAIC Brief does not count or record impressions or clicks on these ads. Our web host’s standard logs, described below, record requests for the image files like any other file.
  • If you click. The ad links go to the advertisers’ own websites (flyminimax.com, sdplanes.us and aceredrives.com). Those sites have their own privacy practices, and clicking sends your browser to them.

The search page downloads a list of article titles and summaries from this site and searches it in your browser. Your search terms are not sent to us.

Our web host

Requesting a page necessarily sends your request to the servers that host this site. Those servers can record standard connection details: your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser's identifier. The site is hosted by KnownHost. We do not use those logs to build profiles of visitors.

If you email us

If you write to editor@faamosaic.com, we receive your email address and whatever you send, and use it to reply.

Articles link to government and other external sites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and clicking a link sends your browser to them.
