Editorial policy
Sources
Regulatory statements rest on primary sources: the Federal Register, the Electronic Code of Federal Regulations, FAA rules, advisory circulars and FAA web pages. Press coverage and manufacturer announcements can raise questions, but they are not treated as proof of what a rule requires. Manufacturer claims are labeled as claims.
We keep different dates apart: when a document was published, when it takes effect, any compliance date, when we published our article, and when we last checked the source. An agency page's displayed "last updated" date does not show which paragraph changed.
Human review
Every article that explains a regulation is checked by a person against the cited sources before it is published. Software, including AI models, may collect sources and draft text, but it cannot approve content. If an approved article is edited in a way that changes what readers are told, the approval is withdrawn and the article is reviewed again.
Corrections and updates
We keep the original publication date when an article is revised. Substantive updates show a separate update date; corrections are listed on the article and on the corrections page.
Aircraft and eligibility
We do not decide whether a particular aircraft or pilot is eligible for anything. Eligibility depends on the aircraft's documents, its certification basis and operating limitations, and the pilot's certificates and endorsements.
Relationships and disclosure
Av8r Capital Group Corp, the publisher of MOSAIC Brief, has business interests in aviation. It operates Mini-Max USA, Carlson Aircraft, and SD Planes USA, and its owner has interests in ThrustCraft Performance and Ace Redrives USA. The About page lists these relationships in full.
When an article covers one of these businesses or its products, or recommends a product or service in a way that could benefit one, it carries a clear disclosure near that coverage, for example: “Disclosure: MOSAIC Brief’s publisher also operates Mini-Max USA.” or “Disclosure: MOSAIC Brief’s publisher and ThrustCraft Performance share an owner.” An article cannot be approved for publication while it mentions one of these businesses without a disclosure.
A disclosure is not the same as a paid placement. We do not label ordinary coverage “Sponsored” unless it is sponsored, and we hold coverage of these businesses to the same sourcing and review standards as everything else. Manufacturer claims, including claims by affiliated businesses, are labeled as claims.
Advertising and sponsorship
MOSAIC Brief plans to offer advertising and sponsorship in the future; none is running today. Any paid or sponsored placement will be labeled as such and will use qualified links, and advertisers will not review or approve editorial content. See Advertise.
